We are told to live in the moment all the time, but sometimes that's nearly impossible for me! This summer I discovered that if I eat and exercise thinking of *tomorrow* instead of today things are much easier. For example, "I really don't feel like working out now... but I know tomorrow my knees won't be as limber if I don't work out, and I want my knees to feel good for that walk I planned tomorrow evening with Sue." This strategy has helped me lose 30 lbs this summer, so I hope it helps! :)
This is particulary helpful (in my opinion) for people who deal with chronic pain, as I do. The body was made to move, so even though working through the pain of arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc. is hard, it's totally worth it!
