Anytime I have a craving for something salty, I keep pistachios around. I'll take 1 handfull and sit down with them and a big bottle of water. By the time I have shelled all of them and drank all the water, I am full and no longer want anything else. Make sure to buy the ones with the shells. It takes time to get them out, so you won't eat mindlessly!

Many people are not aware that simply cutting your salt intake can cause you to lessen your sugar cravings.Canned vegetables have sodium, bottled salad dressings have high sodium content.Make your own vinegar and oil dressing. Cereal contains as much as 1,000 mg of sodium a serving. Keep in mind that even a mild dehydration will cause your body to crave for both salt and sugar. Drink lots of water.
I suffer from terrible cravings late at night! I was looking for acceptable snacks, and I came across someone who suggested celery as a salty snack. I am certain it was a joke... however, I gave it some thought and started dipping celery sticks into a mixture of Salt and spices. It just takes a little to satisfy the craving, without putting a potato chip or pretzels behind that salt!
Now for sweets....can anyone think of something harmless that can be dipped into honey?
