I Want To Be Able Run Again, Without Wheezing Afer A 1/4 Mile
Members Were Sparked
I want to run again without all the stupid wheezing like I did before I developed EIA in the navy. Yes, I even wheeze in the pool. I figure if I find a way to lose this weight, then less to carry when I start running again. It's funny, I can skip rope for 2 mintues before the buzzer ring but I can't run anything past 2:36 at a 1/4 mile. I'm no good after that but I'm not quitting, I will run again! That's my motivation.

I love running so it's more like I am rewarding myself with a treat when I fit in my runs. On days I work I wake up at 4 am and run 3 miles on the treadmill and on days I have off I take my long runs outside anywhere from 5-10 miles. It also helps motivation to work towards a goal such as a 5k/10k or 1/2 marathon which I am currently training for.
It's sometimes frustrating to watch other more experienced runners fly by me on the trails when I am plodding along at my sloooooow running pace (15 min/mile). However, it helps to repeat the mantra, "Run within myself" - knowing that I should be proud of everything I am accomplishing without comparing myself to others.
