Keep Toss Salad Fresh Longer Use A Silicon Veggie Steamer
Members Were Sparked
I make a big bowl of toss salad and store the left overs in a bowl that has a silicon steamer pressed into the bottom. The steamer I have has little silicon legs so any water that drips off of the salad ends up below the steamer and the leaves stay fresh longer.
Since the steamer is flexible it can be squished into a variety of different size bowls.

I fell in love w/ veggies that come in steamer bags that you put directly in the microwave. So I was thrilled when these came out. They are so much less expensive than buying brand name veggies in single-use steamer bags. Put in any fresh or frozen veggies, fish or other meat, microwave away!
I reuse these Ziploc® bags many times b4 I discard them. They are easy to wash with a dishcloth or dish wand. Cooking times vary from their labeled times according to the microwave's wattage. When you steam fish, you have to throw it away after 1 use!
Some vinegar in your diet may improve your blood sugar Nobumasa Ogawa, Ph.D., of Tokyo University in Tokyo, discovered that the acetic acid inhibits the activity of several carbohydrate-digesting enzymes, when vinegar is present in the intestines, some sugars and starches temporarily pass through without being digested, so they have less of an impact on blood sugar. Just two teaspoons of vinegar, taken with a meal, may help you keep better blood glucose control. See more info...
The easiest way to get the vinegar is by using an oil and vinegar salad dressing, vinaigrette dressings drizzled over steamed veggies, or whole wheat bread dipped in Olive Oil and vinegar
