If you find yourself staring at a piece of food you can't seem to say no to stop for a brief moment and explain to yourself why you should have the food or better still why you should NOT have the food. Do it out loud if you're alone or explain it to a friend if you're in company.
Don't mindlessly eat, force yourself to be accountable. Make yourself rationalize your choices.
Think about EVERYTHING that goes into your body... When I mindlessly eat that's when I pack on the pounds, calories, carbs, and sodium.
I work at a coffee shop and sometimes something looks good or I make a drink and just eat/drink it without thinking about what i just put into my body... I try to think about EVERYTHING that goes into my body.
