I have found that some of the young ladies in my neighborhood could really use someone to hang out with. It is fun because they love helping me with what I am working on around the house (gardening, cooking, cleaning out my car) and I enjoy sharing tips and tricks they can use when they grow up.199
I have shown them things like making homemade broth and how to read seed packets to learn when and where to plan things.
I try to cook more than 1 meal at a time in my crockpot. For example, the other day I cooked a mixture of chopped onions, celery, garlic, carrots, mushrooms & ground turkey underneath pork chops. When the pork chops were done, I portioned out the ground turkey mixture in 10 oz. servings (bcuz I cook for 2) & froze them. Now I'll have meat pre-cooked for spaghetti, stir-fry, etc. The broth underneath was put in a container in the fridge & the fat removed the next day. Now I have homemade broth, as well.
