Foods that contain healthy bacteria, such as many types of yogurt, are called "probiotic." They can improve digestion and also may help you control your blood sugar.

Your best choice is plain yogurt or light yogurt without added sugar. Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt is the lowest in sugar that I found...add berries to sweeten.

I can attest that eating yogurt and taking an oral probiotic really helps me control my blood sugar levels. I tend to get "yeasty" when it's hot and my blood sugar is up. This is a VERY nasty condition and I struggle with it every day in the summer. I eat plain greek yogurt with a splash of vanilla flavoring and a packet of splenda every day. I also take an oral probiotic when needed. Yogurt is truly a wonder food!
