Instead on giving up your favourite foods. Portion them off as soon as you buy them. E.g. If you love chips. Buy them and open the packet immediately. Divide the chips into seperate zip lock bags so you have some indication of what your eating. It gets easy to lose control of how much you are eating. Opening new bags will discourage from eating that extra one or two chips. The same can be done for chocolate, lollies etc.
