Many of us with larger butts, thighs &/or hips don't want the jiggle on display in spandex type clothing, but we need the chafe protection that this type of clothing offers since it doesn't ride up. Athletic skirts with compression shorts underneath are awesome once you find the right ones. Your jiggly bits are covered, you are chafe-free and your workout outfit is cute as heck too!345 They make a nice reward when you hit goals too. More cute workout clothes to keep you motivated!
if you have thigh rub, check out skirts with a 5 in inseam underneath. Skirted capris & tights are available too. Fave brand = Skirtsports ($ but worth it). Gym Girl Ultra or Happy Girl work well for many. skirtsports.com 2nd fav brand = RunningSkirts (athletic skirt) runningskirts.com
IGNORE the fitspo. It's not empowering, it's manupulating!
A lot of us have seen the "fitspiration" images of petite, tan, intensely muscled young women with captions like "Yesterday you said tomorrow." This is just "thinspo" in disguise: the same crap that encouraged anorexia a few years ago. Remember, it's unfair to constantly compare yourself to models, whether they're lanky or muscular. To really feel good, focus on YOUR progress and YOUR goals. Love your body, because whether petite, lanky, chubby, or athletic, your body is a miraculous creation!
Fitspo images were pioneered by Nike. Nike has an interest in making sure you feel obligated to buy more exercise gear. Think about it. Fitspo started as an AD CAMPAIGN! Don't try to purchase body confidence -- find it within!
I just cleaned my closet and am giving the clothes that are to big to my church yard sale. Some of them I had just bought a few months ago and are still like new, two still have hang tags and haven't been worn because I was "saving" them for something special. I'm encouraging everyone to wear your "good clothes" now and enjoy them!
