When I get my snack cravings at night and I just can't take it, I eat something sweet and ripe: fruit. I've found that fruit has a lot of sweetness (especially some of the just getting over-ripe stuff) that satisfys my sweet tooth and is more filling than chocolate! Give it a shot! It could work for you, too.

Learning to can and preserve your own food does more than save you money. Many of the products on the market like canned tomatoes, beans, and fruits are canned in cans that have a lining that may be harmful to your health and can cause cancer. 90% of what I used to eat is now off my menu and no fast foods. I try to eat between 60-80 carbs per day. My deserts are berries, especially blurberries which are high in antioxidants, edy's fruit bars, Chocolate Artic Zero or two peices of over 70% dark chocolate. Cocoa is good for the heart and diabetics. Yep, I am losing again!
