Chia seeds are a complete source of dietary protein, providing all the essential amino acids. Chia causes a slow release of carbohydrates and the slow converting of carbohydrates into glucose (blood sugar) for energy. They help to control weight. Mixed with orange juice or tea, the gel-like seeds make a nutritious breakfast that leaves one feeling full & without hunger until noon. No kidding that I started eating chia 5 days ago and lost 5lbs effortlessly. I put them on my salad/cottage cheese.

    How many teaspoons of chia seeds do you eat at one time? I've been putting one teaspoonful on my salad at night for the past week, wanting to start slowly with them. My weight has been stuck for 2 weeks, no help yet from the chia seeds. Maybe I'm not eating enough of them??

    I like to mix them in my morning green tea. Since breakfast is my biggest and highest-carb/protein meal for the day, i find i can often go without the urge to snack or have another meal until well into the afternoon, and sometimes not even until dinner. Lost two pounds this week!

    Will give this a try. Ive been stuck for months and I've tried increasing the intensiy of my workouts, consuming more calories and less, drinking more water, eating higher fibre foods and still stuck.

    try the chia seed carob pudding on SP... very good! I use them in smoothies to thicken them. One or two spoons per smoothy does nicely

    What kind of Chia seeds are the best. I have heard they are not all the same. Any recommendations are appreciated.
