If you don't know what your eating you won't know how much your consuming. Journaling helps to keep me honest and mindful of what and how much I'm eating. It also helps me to make better choices as well. Anything over allotted amount is emotional eating and no amount of food will take care of that. Some other kind of action is needed.

    I found journaling very informative. I was able to see what I was eatin, how much, if it was an emotional thing or a conveience thing, it gave me a sense of what I needed to change. I still log my food daily and focus on specific goals like lowering sodium or upping vegs. for the week. I also use it to log things like stress and sleeping issues for my next doctor visit. I love this tip.
