To cut portion sizes, calories and my grocery budget I buy lean hamburger in club packs and divide it at home. I now divide it into 3/4 pound packs instead of 1 pound packs. This does not affect the taste of recipes. It cuts calories and it makes my grocery budget go further.
Do you have a sweet tooth? Do you like to end every meal in desert? If you do there are lots of "alternatives" you can use to cut calories and fat. However, alot of times I've tried those sugar free/fat free foods and after finishing honestly wonder why I wasted the calories. For me the better alternative is to sit down with a small piece of my favorite indulgence and savor every bite, texture and taste...Make it worth the calories and you'll walk away satisfied.
