Insulin unlocks the cell for sugar to get in, which in turn enables your body to use the food you consume, If your body is not using insulin properly you will store fat & have a hard time losing. Blood Pressure, cholesterol, & triglycerides rise and your liver starts to get fatty. You may be insulin resisitant (metabolic syndrom) ,prediabetic or even diabetic. Have your doc monitor not only your cholesterol panel, but your fasting blood sugar, insulin levels & a 3month average,an A1c test.

So if you too can't lose weight and keep gaining make sure to be tested for a low thyroid or insulin resistance.
I'm eating 3 meals and 3 snacks that keep revving my metabolism and keep my blood sugar level. Each of these mini meals contain protein, carbs and fat. For a sample of a daily menu check the "No Grains!" SP team.

Be sure to include the 4 food groups in all your meals, & don’t forget to check the labels for trans fats and high-fructose corn syrup. Little by little, making better food choices will help you reverse your insulin resistance within weeks. Nutrients in food, supplements, and a Mediterranean diet are favorable to lowering insulin resistance. The keys are nutrition, exercise, and balance.
