I find weighing in once each week gives me a good look at my progress (good or bad) and helps me stay on track. If I really am putting in the needed work, I will see that reflected on the scale most weeks.
Weighing in daily can be discouraging, as you won't see it go down each day, and food/water may show an initial gain on the scale. I weigh in each Thursday in the morning, after I've gone to the bathroom and before I've had any food or drinks.
A lot of people I've talked to say that the best time to weigh yourself is in the morning after you've used the bathroom. If you weigh yourself then, you won't have the added weight of food and water weight. You'll also have a better idea of your real weight loss if you weigh yourself at the same time every day since your weight does fluctuate throughout the day!
To get your most accurate weight weigh yourself first thing in the morning AFTER you use the bathroom BEFORE you eat or drink anything. Stand with your weight evenly distributed and (for digital scales) look straight ahead while the scale weighs you, NOT DOWN AT THE NUMBERS. this can skew things a little. I learned this method after surgery when they had to monitor my weight, so I'm pretty sure it's correct. 192
