I can not make myself exercise without someone encouraging me, so I found a friend that is relentless once a commitment to meet to exercise is made. It works for me and now I try to do the same thing to other friends. As a result we have formed a DVD exercise group. We meet 3 times a week and put in someones DVD and workout together. Good friends can make a difference in so many ways. Hope this works for someone else.306
Finding a friend who has similar goals and has gone through the same journey that you have. My best friend Tracey is my accountability partner. We text and email anytime we need that extra support to keep going. We are about the same height and have both battled our weight for most of our lives. We face similar challenges and see each other through. This is especially helpful to battle emotional eating and food addiction.
Not only does this keep you accountable, it also keeps you from feeling like you're all alone, and a few words of encouragement or just the ability to admit your struggling to someone who goes through the same thing keeps your hand out of the cookie jar and in the bag of baby carrots.
