My Mother'S Advice

This Sparked Me!

When I first got heavy about thirty years ago, I let myself completely go. I turned into a slob. My mother took me shopping and made me vow to never leave the house without makeup and a hairdo. She said to me, "You were always an attractive thin girl and you can be an attractive fat girl, too."

No matter your size, you should always look your best. You will feel better about yourself and shows that you still respect yourself. It made a world of difference for me! Thanks Mom!

I can relate. I also completely let myself go when I gained weight, and I'm slowly learning to start taking care of myself and my appearance again. I've also discovered that it's a whole lot easier to stick with my diet and exercise plan when I feel like I'm already pretty, and not just exercising in order to get pretty. Keep it up!
