Be Honest With Yourself When Categorizing Spending

This Sparked Me!

When figuring out where your money is being spent, be very wary of tricks used to "lie" to yourself. For example, do not get cash back when using a debit card at a grocery store - then track it as "Food".

This really helps narrow down where money can be saved. Withdrawn cash is easy to spend without thinking already, and when hidden in the wrong category, hard to identify ways to save.

I just started a budget spreadsheet again after a couple of years of not having one. You definitely got me pegged on this issue! emoticon
