In order to eat less and increase your water intake, it is recommended to drink a glass of water before eating. If you don't like water, drop a lemon or lime slice, in the water, it will give some flavour and the lemon will help cut down the fat of the meal.

I control what I eat by filling my plate 3/4 full with veggies/fruits and everything else has to fit into the last 1/4 space. (I'm not talking about heaping portions here) I've found that this is especially helpful when I'm eating out. I use this method for portion control.
This is assuming that the fruits and veggies aren't in any sauces or swimming in butter or syrup.
