Dont deny yourself a little piece of chocolate or cake now and again thats the worst thing you can do! It makes you feel like you have to give up the things you love to be healthy. This is not true as long as you stay within your calorie bracket and do some exercise at least 3/5 days a week you wil be fine. If you keep telling yourself you CANT have that one food you love you will lose motivation.... I get my kids involved and sweet things dont last long enough for me to eat much anyways lol :)

dont bum yourself out having lame lunches to save calories and money. make it a point to add new fruits to try, re-create a favorite take-out sandwich/soup, include a treat, vary your combos - anything so that you dont feel deprived!
