Onions can inhibit the development of cancerous cells, &have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that can relieve a stomach ache. I love onions, but hate crying like a baby when I chop them.
But I recently read that if you slice the ends off the onion, peel the skin off and place in the freezer for 10 minutes before slicing or chopping, it freezes up all the juices (the stuff that makes you tear). I tried it and it works.
