When I get bored at my desk job I want to snack to fill the time. So, since the holidays are over and candy canes are marked down to around 50 cents a box, I stocked up. I let myself have a single 60 calorie or less candy cane every afternoon and since they take a while to eat (as long as you don't crunch them up!), it distracts me and satisfies the craving for sugar. Add a bottle of water and I'm good for the rest of the day until I get home.
Buy lots of flavors as a treat. Each day pick out a new flavor to try, or close your eyes and just 'grab one' for a little extra fun in your day.

A lot of towns have streets and neighborhoods done up with holiday lights through the month of Dec (like Candy Cane Lane, Christmas Tree Lane, etc) instead of driving to look at the lights walk the lanes! Load your mp3 player with holiday music, put on those walking shoes and hit the road! :o)
Some of these Holiday neighborhoods have special nights just for walkers, and other have sidewalks to help keep walkers safe.
I still had a big, full basket of candy from my parents back home. And of course I'd eat from it all the time. After tracking the little innocent seeming eggs, I realized it was really slowing my down, so I put every single piece of candy on a plate and left it in the lounge with a note telling people to take what they wanted.
Too late to undo it, and now that candy is GONE 41
With candy like taffies (ie Tootsie Rolls, Bit-O-Honey, LaffyTaffy, etc), instead of chewing them, I like to let them just melt in my mouth. It takes a while for them to dissolve, and I get the most out of that one sweet piece, instead of 3 or 4. This works for toffees, chocolates - pretty much any candy you like. 252
Many of the chewy candies are fat free!
