Most shelters are happy if volunteers come and walk their dogs. If you are inexperienced with dogs they will pick the cutest most patient dog for you to walk with. Not only will you get exercise, but the dog might motivate you to jog part of the way or move at a quicker pace. He will love you for every step the two of you are exercising in the fresh and open nature!
It saves you money on the personal trainer/ motivator, will boost your mood and help some being that is loked up in a shelter without having done anything wrong.
