I eat a cup of broth-based soup with a little protein in it before my afternoon and evening meals. It really helps me feel satiated faster and keeps me from going back for seconds on more caloric items. For supreme convenience I make a big batch of soup on Sundays and freeze it in single-serving containers for the week.

Soup ideas include garden veggie, chicken and barley, escarole and spicy turkey sausage, or tofu tom yum.

  • So true! I also like to make a soup with a base of canned diced tomatoes and smoked paprika. Then I add whatever veggies I have around. Good thing to do with the little dribs and drabs and "gotta use 'em now" veggies. - by SEAJESS
  • Sounds great! Especially with fall and winter approaching. However, I always need something to "crunch"....guess I will add raw carrots and celery to the side for that. - by NATURALSPIRIT
