Exercising with periods of high intensity and alternating them with periods of low intensity keeps me burning calories far after I've stopped working out. Intervals can speed up weight loss. It has mine!
I walk at 3 mph for 5 min, then run at 6 mph for 1 min. I alternate that over 20 minutes. Then I cool down by walking at 3 mph for 2 minutes, then 2 mph for 2 min, then 1 mph for 1 min.

I use the Japanese interval training system: Tabata. It's a beautiful piece of torture that only takes minutes to complete.

I like to walk both outdoors and on my treadmill. I've been reading about how interval training is a great way to boost metabolism and burn more calories. Basically, you alternate between brisk walking and fast walking/sprinting.

Interval Training made My Scale Dial Move in the Right Direction!
I couldn’t walk outdoors due to the rainy weather. So I pulled out a Leslie Sansone DVD titled: “Walk Slim – Fast Start!” It contained episodes of “Interval Training.” It really changed up my walking routine in a hurry. My weight loss had been slowing down. After a couple of sessions using the DVD with the Interval Training, my scale showed a significant weight loss. It was just what I needed to get things moving again in the right direction. I’m sold. Interval Training is result producing!
