When I started on my journey to lose unwanted and health destroying "retirement weight" I had accumulated, I decided to do it right and enlist some help to "get 'er done"! With a gym membership and a great physical trainer I began to see tiny, yet positive, changes in my body shape and strength. Those were the rewards that I would celebrate! ...no matter how tiny they seemed. Reward came from within and I did not depend on others to validate my progress. Decisions at the journey's start...
I decided 1) to not be in a hurry. 2) to view the cost of the Physical Trainer & Gym membership as an investment in my health care. 3) to be faithful to my body's care, feeding and exercise. 4) to research what is rational and make realistic goals. 5) to celebrate the tiny victories! Don't get so bogged down in the big picture that you don't recognize the tiny successes. - If you exercise for 10 minutes, celebrate it. - If you stick to your meal plan for lunch, celebrate it. - If you avoid snacking in the evening, celebrate it! All these tiny successes add up to big lifestyle changes. Be proud of yourself, and celebrate your successes.88
The scale isn't the only tool I use to measure my success! I celebrate all victories! Some of the victories I've celebrated have been staying consistent with my food diary, taking my daily vitamins, making sure I drink at least 64oz of water per day. Positive thinking and consistency is the key!30
