To exercise more consistently find what inspires you about exercise. For example, I find that when I exercise my mood improves a lot and thats why I exercise more than to just lose weight. This response is immediate within 20 minutes of beginning my exercise, whereas losing weight takes weeks and months, so I concentrate on how exercise makes me feel more than on just the weight loss aspect.

    Yes and the fact that I work out listening to the morning inspiration which is that extra dose i need to push myself. Nobody greater than you!!!!

    You are so right! It is so seductive to think of everything in terms of weight-loss and to miss savoring the other benefits like improved mood after exercise. And you're right about if being a more immediately experienced benefit--especially for someone who lives challenged by a mood disorder, and has not been athletically inclined. I tend to think about (focus on) the discomfort of moving, rather than the outcome of stress reduction and mood elevation. Maybe this "little" change in the way I look at exercise will help keep me motivated. I'm making affirmation signs to post around the house to the effect.
