Saving Bread (pun Intended)

This Sparked Me!

There are several ways I save on bread and keep it from molding: freeze it or refrigerate it to extend freshness, dry it to make bread crumbs, use it as a binder for meat loaves, make bread pudding and french toast. And, don't forget to feed our animal friends in the winter!

I do the same thing. I have part of one shelf in the frig reserved for breads. That way we have a variety to enjoy. If the bread gets stale, the birds enjoy it! Bread crumbs from fresh bread are just the best. All you need is a blender with a pulser.

I love the idea of the bread. I use the bread in the same ways, but I never thought to freeze it. Thank you for sharing your very frugal idea.
