Try to lift weights every other day. Simply having more muscle mass increases your metabolic rate. Not only do you burn calories, you will create a more toned look, increase your strength, and increase your overall metabolic rate.
Optimally you want to work out every other day, especially if you decide to lift heavy weights. Make sure to drink plenty of water, and get in plenty of protein.
