I'm a very independent person and hate "depending" on others, but sometimes it really does help. Reading the success stories, checking in with your groups, or even having a buddy during a challenge. Socialization is important and as much as I hate to say it, it's often essential in losing weight, that positive affirmation we get from knowing that other people know often leads us to exercise more or do an extra 5 minutes or push ourselves harder on the next workout.
SparkPeople.com is a great corner for less-than-social Sparkers to join together and safely share ideas, tips, thoughts, and feelings about losing weight. An opportunity most of us wish was a cafe walk away, but it's on our computers, so close enough for now.
