Smaller Plates

When serving food, use a smaller plate. (You can always go back for seconds.) Less food, better portion control. Since the plate looks full, you won't miss the larger portion.

MORE INFORMATION:
Just try it! I didn't think it would work, but it does. I have not eaten off a large dinner plate in years. Even changed to smaller plates for my family. No complaints.

I do this... when I registered for stuff for my housewarming, I did a "set" of dishes that didn't come in a premade set, because I would never use the dinner plates so it was no sense in someone buying them. I use salad plates for dinners, and most of the time just a dessert plate for my lunches. I also got the smallest bowls that they made. I still measure EVERYTHING but my plate looks better and less bare...

I find using the smaller plates satifies me because I still get to eat what my husband is eating but I also take more time eating which makes me think I am eating more and at the same time I am enjoying my food more. You appreciate it more if you don't get very much to eat. emoticon
