Make a list of goals and corresponding rewards. Place in binder with pictures of the rewards. Once you reach a goal, reward yourself and make it known! Post a flyer up at work or on your car that you lost weight and gave yourself a gift. This may motivate others to do the same and be excited for you on your journey.

Many times we are eager to punish ourselves when we think we have failed. I have learned over the years we need to reward ourselves for our accomplishments and punish ourselves less. We all fail. The trick is to get back up and continue to try. And to reward our successes!
I stay motivated by rewarding myself for success. The reward is always fitness oriented and is never food. Some of my rewards for reaching a goal are: a subscription to a health or fitness magazine, a new exercise tool, (weights, medicine ball, DVD, pedometer, etc.), workout clothes. The bigger the achievement, the bigger the reward!
Give yourself credit where credit is due! I have decided that giving myself rewards for "small" successes is important! I may not have a lot of money, but if it means spending a little more money to treat myself to new workout gear, gadgets, supplements, or DVDs I am worth it! I can cut out a coffee here or there if my reward is something wonderful! (especially if it will get me even closer to my goals, because we deserve it! HECK WE EARNED IT!!!)87
