Researchers at the University of Chicago say that ice cold water invigorates the mind. People preforme better on standard alertness tests when exposed to ice water. Splashing cold water on your face or your wrists for a minute or two will rev you up because skin is covered in nerve endings. Try this when you feel tired or exhausted., or just before a test.

I always get to work 30 minutes early. Instead of standing around visiting and drinking coffee, I walk around the perimeter of the office, or head to the office gym and use the elliptical for 10-15 minutes. It invigorates me and wakes me up, I feel happier and destressed, and it jump starts getting my steps in. In the afternoon break, I repeat for 10 minutes to refresh my mind. Very energizing.
