My Pedometer Keeps Me On Track

I have never been one to enjoy exercise. When I started Sparking I included the daily strength exercises but was a little apprehensive about cardio. I am not a runner! I found the pedometer I had in a drawer for a few years (unused!) and clipped it on. As soon as I realized that 10,000 steps a day was pretty easy, it helped me to increase my goals. I strive everyday now to just get up and walk...anywhere, anytime. I love seeing the steps each day and know that the faster I walk, the better for my heart!

    I started using my pedometer, it keeps me motivated. I am doing over 8000 steps in 60 minutes almost 4.5mph , when i didn't have it it was less interesting, I live by it now.. emoticon

    I have started using my pedometer on a regular basis for the last 2 weeks. I work in a office and 10,000 steps are not easy for me. So I am starting with 5,000. Next step I will move up to 7,500 then ,of course, move to 10,000. What I have realized is how few steps I had been taking before. It has made me aware. emoticon

    I also love seeing the steps rack up......I wear an Omron 24/7. One of these days I am going to strap one onto the dog's coller.......our walks are good for her also!
