To save time I wash all my weekly produce in the sink at once and drain it in the dish drainer (it only held clean dishes). The dish drainer is large enough to handle the entire load, and the silverware cup is perfect for herbs, Swiss chard, celery, or carrots. I leave it all to drain for an hour, then prep the veg for cooking & put them into containers, dry & chop the parsley & put it into a jar, and I"m done 'til next week. The whole process takes 1/2 hour excluding drying time.

When you make everything from scratch, it's sometimes difficult to get groceries put away on the same night as produce. Produce not prepped before going in the fridge, usually spoils which is such a waste. Over time I evolved to a system of having 2 stores that I visit mainly because of produce - selection & prices are good, tho I don't do my other grocery shopping there. This lends itself to having a "Produce Night", where I wash all lettuce leaves & make a salad, peel all carrots & (Cont'd)
shred some for the salad; wash celery, making bags of diced & sliced for cooking; peel & slice, dice onion for cooking, etc. Pepper strips, caulif, broc, carrot & celery sticks, radishes, grape toms are bagged after being mixed in a big bowl, for ready-to-eat sides, soup, salad, stir-fry, etc.
It is important to wash off all your produce even if you are going to cut off the skin/rind and throw it away. Your produce could have come in contact with a rotten one and if you do not wash them off, you can contaminate surfaces that will eventually come in direct contact with your freshly cut produce. While it is common sense to wash an apple, pear, or tomato, most folks forget to wash off the watermelon, cantaloupe, or other tough rind produce like pineapple.
