MORE INFORMATION:
There are various "recipes" on line - the one I use calls for 1/2 cup washing soda, 1 cup soap flakes (I grate bars of Ivory on my grater), and 1/2 cup of borax.
Use 1 to 2 tablespoons per load. This works in warm or cold water
Purex has made a product that is laundry detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheet all in one. Drop one in the washer and the detergent is released, put it in the dryer and the clothes come out soft and static-free. No more remembering to add fabric softener and the cost is comparable to buying detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets. Less carbon footprint since you can buy refills as well. Love them!
MORE INFORMATION:
They come in various fragrances as well. I don't know if they make a fragrance-free type or not.
