I try not to think about the total that I want to lose. I figure if I can't get the first 5 lbs off, why should I be worrying about getting 50 lbs off. I also reward myself for every 5 lbs that I lose....manicure, pedicure, etc.

You're never going to make any progress if you don't get to the bottom of your issues. Most of the time problems with excess body weight have absolutely nothing to do with food issues. Figure out why it is that you have gained the weight and why you REALLY want to lose it.
