Having to whipe down your scale after each use can be a pain. I find that placing saran (plastic) wrap over the scale, including the key pad does the trick.
With clean hands, simply place a large enough piece of plastic wrap over the scale and keypad.
The plastic wrap usually weighs less than nothing so you won't need to reset the scale to zero. Once you've measured out your item, remove the food by lifting the plastic wrap. Now you can either cook it or wrap it up and refrigerate/freeze it.

Digital Food Scale & Measuring Spoons on Kitchen Counter.
I keep a small Tray on the kitchen counter, with The Digital Food Scale ,several Measuring Cups, and 2 sets of Measuring Spoons.I am much more diciplined to use all these tools when there is Multiple Sets, and within easy reach,no need to wash/rinse utensils after each use. Also when measuring "Tare" on The Food Scale, sometimes i use a piece of "Saran Wrap" instead of a plate for easy use and clean up.25848553
The Digital Food Scale is my best friend!30
I work in Fulfillment (shipping/mailing). When I've forgotten to weigh out a measured portion of something at home in advance - like pretzels or buffalo jerky - sometimes I bring the whole bag to work and use the digital postal scale in the back to measure out the correct portion!
A postal scale is needed - digital is better.
