Approach The Scale With No Expectations

This Sparked Me!

No matter what the scale says, it doesn't change how you feel or how you look. In fact, it means very little in the grand scheme of things. Expect nothing and any loss will be a pleasant surprise and cause for celebration.

MORE INFORMATION:
The number on the scale is dependent upon many factors besides fat loss. It does not necessarily reflect the amount of effort you put in. If you feel good and your fitness is improving and your clothes are loose- don't let the scale change your attitude or get you down.

I have been having such a hard time with the scale. It is not saying what I want it to. I almost feel obsessed with it. Thanks so much for your post. It was really helpful for me today!

I totally agree! The scale does not tell the whole picture and can just be a reflection on the day before if you have a lot of sodium. I like to weigh monthly then I am pretty sure that I will have a nice surprise! emoticon

I weigh almost every day and chart it. This shows me the natural variations for my body. It also shows me that scale numbers for one day do not show the whole story.

The scale has become an enemy to me! Everyday it has been different and I am tired of it. I plan to weigh only once a month right now and start reflecting on my clothes and how I feel more than the numbers. Just like so many others have said! I love Sparkpeople!!!
