I have an app on my ITouch that can send myself text messages. I configure this to send myself messages to motivate me to quit drinking soda as well as getting my daily walk in. The messages come daily and it really helps to have a visual every day to help me remember that I can do this!
The app is called TextMinder and is for sale in the app store on ITunes.

i recently posted the secret about heart360.org. i have found since then that this site can also send you text messages of your choice when you want them. as an example i find my big challenge is to not eat everything in my kitchen at night so now around 8pm i have a text sent to me reminding me to put off raiding the cabinets - it's just not worth it! it helped yesterday - we'll see if it continues
I schedule exercises in my SP appointment book and then I use the REMINDER option to have a text message arrive an hour or two before I need to get the exercises done. (Look at "MORE" to find out how to do this. ) I also send myself a motivation message the same way :)
If you have never sent yourself a text message from the internet, for Verizon, the "address" is your entire verizon phone number PLUS "@vtext.com" Example: firstname.lastname@example.org" You have to find out what your carrier "SMS" address is, if you do not have verizon.
