To remove the fat floating on top of stews, soups etc. Take a slotted spoon, put an icecube or two in it and gently strain the top thru it. The liquid goes thru, the fat coagulates and stays in the spoon. The melted ice is just water.

Alot of people (me included) assume that to lose weight you should always choose the fat-free options. I'm now realising that I actually NEED fat to feel satisfied and that going under my fat goal wasn't helping. Now I include some full fat dairy in my diet and try and eat nuts in some form every day.
Even buying low-fat yoghurt instead of fat free can help!
I love to have salads when eating out. They're a lot of work to make. I have the fattening items left off (croutons, eggs, cheese, etc) but the light dressing options are often limited. So I carry my own in a little screw top bottle (bought mine at REI). It's a perfect solution for me.
My favorites are Kraft Fat Free French and the fat free Trader Joe Balsamic vinegarette.
The saturated fat and cholesterol in turkey stuffing can be extremely high for two main reasons: It may be made with high cholesterol & or high saturated fat ingredients, animal fats, butter and eggs; The saturated fat & cholesterol in turkey fat is absorbed into the stuffing along with the turkey fat during cooking & also dries out the meat. Use low cholesterol & low saturated fat ingredients in the stuffing like broth instead of butter, make stuffing separate so not to absorb fat.
