I use my exercise ball to increase the intensity of hamstring stretches. First I get into a yoga position called "legs up the wall". (Back and head on floor, legs at 90 degrees up the wall.) Then I place the exercise ball between the wall and the backs of my ankles or calves. This raises my butt and if I slowly attempt to lower my butt to the floor, I have to stretch the hamstrings. It is Fitness Week at work in the Gym. They are giving us a different activity to do everyday to earn extra points. Yesterday 20 crunches on the ball, 10 hamstring curls with the ball, 10 push ups legs on the ball. Today 1/2 mile walk outside around our park area. Adding new things to a routine!345
Still use the Elliptical, Tread Mill or Recumbent bike everyday for cardio. Twice a week also engage in Fitness Pilates which really works up a sweat and the flexibility I have gained since starting in January is AMAZING!
I am NOT a yoga person, but needed something to help stretch me out as I have had trouble with back/hip/hamstring that kept me from being able to exercise at all. This DVD feels so good on those tight areas and many things are what my physical therapist had me doing. LOVE IT! Stretching routine!
