The Sneaky Way To 5 A Day

A great way to increase your fruit and veg and also water intake is to combine the two! I add the juice of a lemon or lime (or a bit of each if I'm feeling dangerous) to 2 cups of water. It's a really refreshing drink and I have this twice a day. It may be an acquired taste but I love it! The juice of each lemon or lime counts as one of your five a day, and of course the water counts towards your eight cups. Win/win!

    Stillout2lunch - This is a very good point, although I do scrape the pulp from the fruit into the water too - does this add to the fibre?

    I like added it to either Seltzer Water or Club Soda for an extra bit of bubbly. Orange juice works well for this too.

    I also like adding the lemon to my water in the am. Very good for cleansing the kidney. However, the juice will only give you the antioxidant qualities not the fiber. And one of the biggest reasons to eat your 5 freggies a day is the fiber you need each day and only get from the fruits and veggies.
