If most of your groceries are fresh produce, then you are more likely to eat those foods first. Prepping fresh veggies and fruits for easy grab and go snacks also helps. If you actually eat 5-10 servings of these foods per day, then you will be less likely to snack on other unhealthy options.

  • I have started doing this last month and I think that I may be even getting more than 50% of my cart with fresh things and whole grains. It just makes more sense to shop this way and eat healthy. Nothing proccessed or canned!! - by SKINNYROBIN100

    Believe me, I know the winter months are hard! I live in Northern Canada so no farmers markets here until the summer! There is nothing wrong with frozen or canned fruits and veggies, as they are picked and packed at their best nutritional quality! In the winter, try eating more winter vegetables if you like things fresh; cabbage, beets, turnip, potatoes, kale, and swiss chard are some examples. It might inspire you to try some new things, or change up your current recipes. - by MRSCHRISTIAN
  • I am so glad that there are several farmers markets around this area, all on different days. That is the great thing about living in S.CA we can get most produce fresh year round. I also buy at our local Costco, they seem to always have a lot of produce from plums to kiwi and organic both fresh and frozen. - by XENA1956
