When I'm out running errands and won't be home for lunch; I avoid the fast food drive through by packing a healthy meal (sandwich or salad ) in an ice filled cooler which I keep in the trunk of the car. That way I'm not tempted by french fries or chocolate shakes.

When I go on long runs I take chocolate milk with me and pack flexibile ice packs around it in a lunch box. When I get back to my car after the long run, not only do I have a nice cold container of chocolate milk, but I also have some ice packs in case something is sore. Chocolate milk is thought to have a perfect 4:1 carb/protein ratio for recovery so it works great after a run!

Pack a large thermos with ice water. Pack plastic glasses in different colors for each person on the trip, or pack disposable cups. When you're thirsty, drink ICE COLD water from the thermos.
