Cleaning shower heads and softening washing with vinegar
To clean shower heads that have been clogged with mineral deposits, place half a cup of vinegar in a plastic food storage bag and secure the bag to the shower head with a rubber band. Let it stand for two hours then rinse and buff he mixture to a shiny finish. One cup of undiluted white vinegar added to the laundry rinse cycle instead of commercial fabric softener will soften clothes, cut detergent residue and is a plus for family members with sensitive skin.
I looooove to use the plastic storage bins, drawer carts, etc. to help me organize. I use the drawer carts for my lil one's diapers/wipes, clothes. I have smaller ones on my desk for my pens, paper clips, calculator, etc. I also have a laundry basket in each room (3 kids' rooms, our room, and the
bathroom. This way no matter where we change our clothes, they always get put in a basket. I use a large plastic tub for the kids' toys. Keeps everything put up and out of the way.
Start a load of laundry, then grab an empty laundry basket, set a timer, and go from room to room and pick up anything in each room that doesn't belong there. Make one circuit to pick-up and one circuit to deliver, emptying the basket. If you noticed trash while doing Pick-Up, set the timer again and empty and pick-up all the trash.
When you are done you'll have a feeling of accomplishment from picking up and rebooting the laundry.
