Jewelry Untangled

This Sparked Me!

I have a drawer with all of my jewelry that I had to untangle everything to get a necklace or bracelet to wear. After untangling everything I got cheap snack size ziploc bags from the dollar store and used one bag per item. I then put these small bags into a gallon size zipper bag, one for bracelets, another necklaces, etc. They also sell bags that are smaller and made for jewelry (I saw them at Walmart) but this is a cheaper way to go.

Sounds good, but just as an FYI make sure that you don't put any silver (.800, sterling, fine or otherwise) in plastic. They need to be stored in some sort of flannel - just cut a piece from a sock or pajamas. Silver should never touch plastic or rubber.

My necklaces always gave me trouble. So I put up a hook rack in my closet by the door. There are 4 hooks. I put in all my necklaces by size and type and just reach in a grab one when I need it. I also love the magnetic closures for shorter necklaces.

Why is silver not supposed to be in plastic? I have had my silver earrings in the small plastic bag they came in for 3 years and nothing has happened to them.

I do this also! I put a necklace in a corner of a sandwich bag and secure with a twistie, then another in the other corner. Apocketed shoe tree on the back of a door holds everything and it's all sorted!

I now hang my items on earring trees (including necklaces), and keep my bracelets in my jewelry box. It's not as cheap as your method haha.
