If I can't make my scheduled workout due to life, I go to plan B and do what I can... something is always better than nothing and you can work out literally everywhere... at night at grad school, I ran stairs during my 10 min break-LOL! Stuck in airport? Run laps... who cares what people think?
Must haves at home: great music, bands, 20 lbs weights ( and smaller) yoga mat and the attitude to follow your body
I never throw away socks. They are good to put on your hands or kids hands as a dust catcher. I like to use them to dust off electronics, air intakes, and anywhere that the kids can reach :) They also work well to use as a dry erase eraser.
I keep my bag of socks on a hook under my kitchen sink so that they are handy.
