It is so easy on this journey to get down and frustrated, when this happens I remind myself how fortunate that I am. Weight is something that I can change, there are many people who face insurmountable obstacles that they can't change. I tell myself stop attending my own pity-party and get going!
When I want to give up, have a pity party or I have a really negative outlook or negative self-talk, I focus on the things that I have and about all the things I am able do that others may or may not be able to do, due to circumstance. I count my blessings and recenter myself.26
When you are having a pity party for yourself, try to refocus on all the positive things in your life to re-attune your attitude. Look at your accomplishments, all you are grateful for (it could be just because you woke up today sometimes! lol). "A joyful spirit is evidence of a grateful heart"
Keep saying "I am grateful for______" filling in the blanks each time with something different until you can no longer think of anything.
