When you're preparing a meal or setting a table, try to remember everything you'll want from the fridge (make a list if necessary) and take them out together so that you don't have to keep opening and closing the fridge door and affecting the temperature inside.

Place goals in a place where they are viewed by all.
I decided at the beginning of this year to make a chart and put it on the fridge (kinda like the fundraiser ones). Each pound I loose I fill it in. I also put a sign with my goal weight on the fridge. Current training/workout schedules are taped on the fridge as well. I notice them each time I walk into the kitchen and so does the rest of my family.
I use to have a habit that when an advert came on TV I would get up, go to the fridge and eat something out of it. It was a comfort thing I think, now I get up, look in the fridge, stop and think about it and then take nothing. I am still doing the habit of going to the fridge just not picking at the food any more and I still get the fulfilment of getting up and looking.
If you tend to do the same thing, to help stop the fridge picking, having a tub of fruit/nuts/veg in the fridge, so at least you are picking at something healthy, or like me, I started off by eating a piece of ice out of the freezer.
